Student Spotlight: Xian Andino Collazo
When Xian first joined Veritas Prep Charter School, he faced significant challenges with his reading skills. His slow, robotic reading pace made it difficult for him to fully comprehend his work, leaving him frustrated and unsure of how to keep up with his peers.
“Don’t be scared to raise your hand and ask for help. I improved myself by raising my hand more and asking more questions.”
The Outcome
Over the course of three years at Veritas Prep, Xian’s hard work and determination, combined with the support of the HD Word reading intervention program, have transformed his learning experience. He has officially exited the reading intervention program and now approaches his schoolwork with greater confidence and independence.
Xian has developed a deeper understanding of his own learning process, identifying his strengths and areas for growth. His willingness to ask questions and seek help has been a game-changer, allowing him to overcome challenges and thrive as a student.
Xian is a powerful example of how perseverance and a commitment to learning can lead to remarkable growth. We are so proud of Xian’s accomplishments and are excited to see his continued success as he builds on his strengths and embraces his potential!
