The middle school offers a rigorous, standards-based curriculum with high quality instructional materials across all grades and subjects. Our ELA curriculum engages students with wit, wisdom, wonder, rigor, and knowledge and that literature, history, art, and science all while celebrating the joy of reading and writing. In science, we engage students with phenomenon-based units and inquiry-based instruction as they construct an understanding and make sense of the world. In history, we incorporate non-fiction reading and writing instruction and practice as students learn from a variety of sources and culturally relevant texts. High School Head Start
The high school years at Veritas Prep are transformative. Our robust early college curriculum and innovative early college program provide students with the opportunity to earn college credits, giving them a head start on higher education. Meaningful extracurricular and leadership opportunities ensure they develop into well-rounded, confident individuals ready to take on the world.
Our High School Curriculum
Our Early College program both meets the state’s MassCore high school graduation requirements and offers students the opportunity to take college courses beginning in 9th grade, or later depending on their readiness. All college courses are part of MassTransfer, a statewide agreement that allows students to transfer between public higher education institutions, including community colleges, state universities, and the University of Massachusetts. Our Portrait of a Graduate aligns to Massachusetts’ defined College and Career Readiness standards and is our shared community vision of what Veritas Prep High School graduates will know, experience and be able to do upon graduation. It was developed with in-depth college and career readiness research and with input from over 200 community members, including families, staff, local business and community leaders, alumni and VPCS students. We’ve identified the specific Habits of Success our students will need to demonstrate to build toward these competencies. The behaviors and traits of highly successful individuals that have long been recognized as skills youth must develop along with academic knowledge to prepare for college, careers and life.
